The Ascot Overhead Sectional Door is a market leading solution for industry and commerce, combining simple operation with exceptional insulation performance.
Solid Insulated Panel Industrial Overhead Sectional Doors are ideal for industrial environments looking to maximise utilisable space at low level, right up to the door line. Opening vertically, the panel door leaf moves into roof/ceiling space, requiring limited interior clearance space at low level.
Dependant upon the clear space above the door lintel, track hardware systems can be tailored to either open vertically upwards to follow the vertical wall, or turn horizontally to travel backwards into the building.
Track arrangements are available to suit as little as 250mm of clear headroom. Where horizontal turns are required, tracks can be pitched to follow the ceiling or roof pitch, or return at 90 degrees – every system is designed to suit the specifics of the individual opening.
Spring Balancing System
Sectional doors utilise a fully balanced mechanical system, drawing upon heavy duty torsion springs, mounted above the lintel, to balance the weight of the door hardware. Properly specified and correctly balanced spring packages allow even extremely large door leaf arrangements to be held at each stage of their operation – doors up to 40 square meters can be made suitable for manual operation by a geared hand chain operator.
Electrical Operation Options
Contemporary designs offer a range of 1ph and 3ph operator units, providing simple and sequential operation to the user. Provided as standard with a three push button low level wall mounted control panel, hold to run (aka. Deadman Grip) operation makes opening and closing easy and safe.
Enhanced control systems are available as an option, allowing end user operators the freedom to have doors close automatically, in conjunction with mandatory safety features to EN 13241, which must be specified to prevent risk to people, goods and vehicles.
A range of options are available, from closing at the single touch of a control station button, to fully remote closure via radio transmitters, magnetic floor loops, radars or automatically timed closing.
Thermal Performance
As standard 40mm thick sectional door panels are constructed from galvanised steel sheets bonded together with high density CFC free polyurethane foam, with a thermal break at each joint.
Thermal ‘U’ values are calculated by the specific door hardware arrangement, factoring insulated panels, vision panels or glazed sections, ventilation grilles and side, lintel and floor sealing options. Typically fully solid doors can achieve u-values as low as 1.0W/m2K.
